![]() ![]() Regarding the “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”, there are a bunch of them and none of them seem to be something of interest here. FWIW, I have reinstalled the Blue website driver probably a half dozen times by now (different ports, etc). I am beginning to believe that this issue is unique to me and may not have a ‘findable by me’ solution. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driverĭeleting that driver and re-installing the driver from the Blue website puts me in exactly the place that I was in when I started this thread. There are no compatible drivers for this device. The drivers for this device are not installed. When I delete them and just plug in a driverless Yeti, Windows installs yet a different driver (“Blue DFU”) which fails with a code 28. The two (why are there two of them?) drivers that you see with the arrows in the original post image “go away” and come back when the Yeti is unplugged/plugged. ![]() I am not sure exactly what I would learn from this (if I had another computer to try).ĭoug, thanks for the response. I told this to the Blue Support folks and their first response was that “This Microphone supports Windows 10 and I should try it on another Windows 10 computer”. So I am highly confused by all of this and am hoping that others have encountered this problem and can share a solution. And I am reasonably sure that before all this happened I had a single driver that lived inside the Sounds and Video Controllers pulldown. Note that this is what my Device Manager looks like after I uninstall BOTH of these drivers and then reinstall the Blue Yeti Pro driver from the Blue Mic website. The Blue USB Audio 2 driver is not installed. ![]() The Blue Yeti Pro driver says that it is working OK. “Update Driver” yields nothing on either driver. Note that neither one is inside the Sound and Game Controller Tab which is where it should be (I think). At this point Device Manager is showing two different “Blue Devices”. I have tried this a couple of times without success. This morning I uninstalled that old driver and reinstalled the new one off the Blue Yeti website. But it worked and I did the short recording job that I needed to do - I also sent a service request to the Blue folks. What was surprising was the ‘new’ driver had a date of (IIRC) 2006 while the one that was replaced was definitely later than that (although I don’t recall the actual date). I ended up doing a “Update Driver” from Device Manager and Windows found a driver and did an “Update”. ![]() I also did not see it in Windows Sound->Recording selection. Yesterday I fired up Audacity and did not see the Blue Yeti from the Audacity pulldown. It had been a few weeks so I cannot be for sure regarding a cause/effect. I am using 2.2.1, BTW.Īll was fine WRT Audacity and my Yeti Pro until yesterday (after the April Win 10 update). I recognize that this is a Windows system issue but so far my interactions with the Blue folks are not encouraging. While this is an Audacity problem in the sense that Audacity is the only way that I use my (currently unusable) Blue Yeti Pro mic on Windows 10 on a Dell XPS laptop. Or you could pre-order the brand new Assassin's Creed Valhalla.First my apologies for (possibly) abusing this helpful forum. Try one of Ubisoft's great multiplayer games like The Division or Rainbow Six Siege since you now have a mic to talk to your teammates. The $50 Ubisoft code will only work on the Ubisoft Store, but that still gives you access to a wide variety of games. It also comes with a three-year warranty. It works with Windows XP and up or Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher and requires a minimum of 64MB of RAM, which is a really basic requirement. The mic also features gain control, a mute button, and zero-latency headphone output. You'll most likely want to go with cardioid if you plan to use this while playing games because it's the pattern designed to not pick up things immediately behind the mic, like the clicking of your mechanical keyboard. You can choose from multiple patterns (cardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional, and stereo) that allow you to pick up audio from a specific direction (directly in front of the mic, all around the mic, in front and back of the mic, etc.). It's a condenser mic that includes a tri-capsule array that can record almost any situation. The Blue Yeti is powered by USB so it's easy to just plug in and get it going. The bears laugh in the face of polite society, refusing to grow up, get a job, and put down roots. The Grateful Dead dancing bears have an insouciant, joyful intransigence to them, as though they are bucking conventions to live a life of hedonistic pleasure-seeking and philosophical musings. The Symbolic Legacy of the Deadhead Bears In this way it is clear how the bears not only represented the offbeat, idiosyncratic, creatively potent world of prog-rock, but also how they came to be a stand-in for the psychedelic counterculture more generally. What I wouldn’t give to go back to those times. This meant that fans could trip on custom-made, artistically-inspired dancing bear acid while watching the concert. “Bear” Stanley started incorporating the bears into the blotter art for his LSD tabs, which were in heavy demand at Dead concerts. But “marching bears” doesn’t sound quite as evocative, does it? The LSD Connectionīut wait, things keep getting wackier. If you put the bears in a flip book in order and flip through them you will see that they are actually doing a high step march. The bears chart the trajectory of the rainbow, illustrated in sunny shades of yellow, green, orange, red, and blue.Īlthough Stanley later clarified that the bears are not, in fact dancing, in the popular imagination that impression has stuck. Thomas used a goofy-looking 36-point leaden slug bear as the inspiration for the design, which resulted in the playful, light-hearted appearance of the bears. The live recordings on the album were, quite literally, chosen by “Bear Stanley” from his personal archives. “Bear’s Choice” wasn’t just a twee and playful name for a killer compilation album. Needless to say, “Bear” was foundational to the early success of the band, and his legacy was captured in the dancing bears. “Bear”, in tandem with Bob Thomas, also designed the “Steal Your Face” logo and the “Lightning Bolt” logo (originally created to keep track of the band’s instruments at shows). He recorded many live performances and distributed the resulting tapes, enhancing the communal, grassroots mood of the Dead’s fandom. ![]() “Bear” Stanley was pivotal in the tape trading culture that blossomed among Dead fans. Rumor has it that the nickname originated in his childhood, due to his wild and unruly chest hair. Needless to say, he was a counterculture icon in sixties San Francisco. Often called the Acid King, he was one of the first private producers of LSD in the world. The bears were designed in honor of one of the band’s first sound engineers, Owsley “Bear” Stanley, who was also a practicing chemist and the man behind a large portion of the LSD being circulated in the States at the time. And what a choice it was, as the bears have taken on a whimsical life of their own in the cult surrounding the Dead.īut it gets trippier. They first appeared on the back cover of the album The History of the Grateful Dead, Volume 1 (Bear’s Choice). The dancing bears weren’t there from the start – indeed, they had their debut in 1973, well into The Grateful Dead’s career. “Bear” Stanley and the Backstory of the Grateful Dead Bears ![]() While you don’t need an advanced degree in semiotics to uncover the mysterious magic of the dancing bears, some crib notes certainly won’t hurt. Let’s get up close with Grateful Dead’s surreal and iconic dancing bears. Then you’re going to want to strap in for this one, because it’s going to be quite a ride. Is there an omnisphere 14/17/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() But if you have Omni 2, you have Luminasonic 40 Watt, 100 watt, 150 watt, and 200 watt. And I'm sure all of you thought-I sure don't have that. Soundiron recently came out with Luminabells 2.0, an experimental percussion library that uses lightbulbs. My final choice was a combination of Omni's "Elderly Bells" and M1's "Crystal." I'm not suggesting they are the "best," whatever that means, but they were the ones that fit into my arrangement best. I needed a chimey sound, so I spent a few hours making a Chime template, everything from Dulcitones to Sonokinetic's "Chime" to FM sounds. I've been working on a version of "Merry Christmas, Mr. After looking at everything I had, I used Omni's "Waters of the Nile." Once I did that, the video worked for me. Recently I was doing a video on Bela D's Sora. And you'd be surprised how often I choose Omni. Then, when I'm working on something, I pull stuff in from these templates and see what best works with what I'm doing. Everything in these templates comes out of searching through hundreds or even thousands of presets on everything I own, stacking them up against each other and picking my very, very favorite ones. That all changed when I started putting together templates of my very favorite presets for acoustic guitars, overdriven guitars, pads-with-movement, peaceful pads, solo female vocals, choirs, etc. Who has time to hunt around in Omnisphere? If I'm being honest, when I was looking for a pad for a piece I was working on, I didn't go there, I went to a smaller library that was all pads, like one from FrozenPlain, SAS, etc. Even though I spent many hours exploring it and selecting my favorites, it was still overwhelming. For a long time after I got Omnisphere, all I did was load it and play some of my favorite patches, like "Glorious Guitars" and the Jazz Vocal stacks. ![]() Poured concrete walls vs block cost4/17/2024 ![]() ![]()

In this blog post, we’ll delve into the various types of mushrooms that thrive on maple trees and provide insight into how to identify them and cultivate them for yourself. While there are many ways to select a Japanese maple, leaf color is why most people plant this tree. Mushrooms found on maple trees are diverse, offering many benefits to the environment so let’s learn more about them and how to cultivate them. Many popular cultivars produce the familiar red foliage, such as one of the most popular Japanese trees, 'Bloodgood.' But others provide brilliant green or gold tones-and even bicolor leaves. It is truly a stunning type of maple tree. In zones 7–8, they can benefit from planting in partial shade or dappled sunlight to protect the leaves from leaf scorch in the summer heat. Japanese maples should be planted in full to partial sun and in well-drained soil. They are suitable for USDA hardiness zones 5a–8b, though a few can brave zone 4 if planted in protected locations. ![]() The many different kinds of Japanese maples include Acer palmatum, Acer japonicum, and Acer pictum they are all part of the Sapindaceae (soapberry) family. ‘Sango Kaku’ is prized as one of the prettiest Japanese maple trees for its changing foliage but also bright coral bark, which gives this tree its striking contrast all year round. The foliage offers striking color throughout the growing season, becoming even more beautiful with the fall color change. Several dwarf varieties stay small and can be trained as bonsai.Īlthough the tree blooms in spring, it's the palmate leaves with five-, seven-, or nine-toothed finger-like leaves that offer the real appeal. ![]() Each species exhibits its own unique bark patterns, which can be observed in the winter buds. Even though each species’ leaves, growth pattern, size, and climatic preferences differ, most maples share a set of features. With over a thousand varieties, it is a smallish species, with mature heights of 4–30 feet, depending on the cultivar. Maple trees, known for their distinct bark patterns, belong to the Acer genus and encompass several species. Maple trees range in size from short to tall, with some species reaching heights of less than 10 feet to some well above 100 feet. Japanese maple tree varieties are prized for their delicate and colorful foliage throughout the growing season and autumn. He goes well with that summoning pentagram I posted before. HOWEVER, I could reformate most of my charsets, so get yourself ready for my quirky little creatures!įirst off, a little demon with a little hovering idle animation. And I don't really have the motivation for that. Some of my assets (such as my animated 4 directional raft) would require me to redraw considerable parts of the animation completely to make them work with just 3 frames. This is due to the reduction of frames in a walk cycle from 4 (XP) to 3 (MV). Unfortunately, there are also some that I am unable to convert without considerable loss of quality. There are some more that I have not come around to convert yet (such as my giant stone face statue), which you will find in one of the next updates.
